At home with my sweet little boys

This week has been really cold so we have stayed home. I don't think the kids have left the house since Sunday. That is fine with me since there are so many colds and viruses going around. We definitely don't need those! Next week we have a lot going on, so I am resting up.
Since nothing interesting happened this week I am posting a few pictures and videos that were taken recently.

It's a good day as long as they have each other

Jett has to be the funniest kid ever! Below is a video that I had to shorten a bit (the actual length of the video was almost 5 minutes) of him singing and dancing around. He never does that so I had to get it on video. He doesn't mind that he has no pants on and his onesie is unsnapped. In most of the videos you will notice Jett without pants and socks. Even when it is freezing cold he refuses to wear them. So if you see a video of him pants-less it isn't because he doesn't have any. He just chooses not to wear them! :)

I am not sure what song this is supposed to be, but I guess he does.

Jett decided that it would be fun to read a bedtime story to Dash. I am so glad I was able to get this on video. He brought out a small Gideon's Bible and started reading to Dash with the book upside-down. Dash didn't enjoy the story time, mostly because it was past his bedtime.

Dash is the happiest baby. He is always smiling and has the sweetest giggle ever! I was in the middle of changing his clothes when me and Jett had him giggling and smiling so we just had to record it. Jett is a great big brother.

Dash enjoying his Glow Worm

Jett asked me and Dash to play in his room with him, so we did. Dash and I sat on Jett's bed while he piled toys around us to play with. I think Dash was a little overwhelmed from the look on his face.

I took this picture today as they snuggled and watched tv for a few minutes.

Jett loves to hold his baby brother's hand. How sweet is that!

Farts and Birds - Oh My!

Delano works every other weekend, and this weekend he has been off. We have actually gotten alot done while also hanging around the house.

We have discovered Angry Birds. It is a cheesy little game where you slingshot a bird into some pigs. For some reason it is extremely addicting! Jett loves to play it as much as we do.

Delano and Jett decided to have a "camp out night" and build a fort. Being very creative, they used a shower curtain rod, a yard stick, some twine, a few chip clips, and a sheet to create the best fort ever! Jett was so excited about their "fart" and couldn't wait to sleep under it. He really thought is was called a "fart" which we found to be so funny. Jett loved his one-on-one time with Daddy and their camp out was a success.

Tonight Delano and I considered having a date night, but then realized that we would rather save our money. We have been trying to be more money conscious lately since we are wanting to buy a house. It probably won't be until next year, but we are on a strict budget to get things ready financially. Mom was already planning on visiting for a bit, so we took a trip to Wal-Mart without the kids. That sounds a little sad, but we did enjoy our kid-free shopping.

I didn't mention in the last post that Jett decided to name our snowman. When I asked him what he wanted to name it, he said "just something Drouillard". He has learned his last name recently! So we came up with the name "Snowflake Drouillard" for our snowman. He is still out there in our yard tonight. Snowflake is hanging on for as long as he can.

Snow What Fun!!!

Jett was so excited to see the snow outside! Today we all bundled up (minus Dash) to brave the cold and play in the snow.
Jett was ready for the cold in his Toy Story snow boots and monster mittens.

Jett and Delano building a snowman.

Jett was such a good helper.

Still smiling even though his hands were popsicles.

Jett learned quickly how to make a snowball and throw it at mommy and daddy.

The finished snowman- he has alot of leaves and gravel mixed in with his snow. We thought it added some character. :) You may also notice the large stick helping to hold him upright. Somehow our snowman started to fall backwards so we tried propping him up with a stick. We definitely need snowman-building lessons! But Jett had fun and that is what matters most! Oh, and yes that is a banana he is eating in the photo. We were going to use it for the snowman's mouth, but Jett needed a snack.

After warming up a bit, Jett begged Daddy to play Mario on the Wii. He loves watching this game!

This picture cracked me up. Dash was smiling and when I took the picture, the flash was too bright for him.

Sweet brotherly love.

Jett has a ton of stuffed animals in his bed and he calls them his "friends". I have tried to take some of them out of his bed, but he knows when even one of them is missing. Some nights I will listen to him through the baby monitor talking to his friends. It is really cute how he scolds them for not listening or tells them it is time for bed. When you look at this picture it is almost like Where's Waldo. Sometimes when I go to check on him I have to look closely just to see where he is. I took this picture a few nights ago because I know that one day he will be tired of the "friends" in his bed and remove them. For now, I think it is very sweet and love that he feels comforted by them.

Dash loves to sit up in our recliner. I sat him down for just a minute and he was sound asleep sucking his thumb.

Finally Friday!

This week has been a long one. Jett and Dash have both been sick for 2 weeks so we finally took them to the Doctor Monday. Turns out, Jett has a sinus infection and has to take antibiotics for 10 days. Dash seemed to be feeling better so he doesn't have to take anything. But would you believe that the little guy is 17lbs! He is growing so fast!

I also had a dentist appointment Monday for a filling. I haven't had a cavity since around 2004, which is a good thing because I am TERRIFIED of getting fillings. I don't mind going for a routine cleaning, but when I hear the drill crank up I turn into a nutcase! This all goes back to the fabulous Dr. Boston not numbing my mouth enough when I was a teenager, and then telling me to "tough it out". It was torture and I never forgot it. Now the drill just gets to me. But I got through this filling thankfully without any embarrassment.

Tuesday we took Malachi for a much needed grooming. He looked terrible with his shaggy mop. But now he is shaved down and feels like a new dog! I groom Ozzy myself- I mean, really there is nothing to it besides trimming his nails and shaving the crazy peachfuzz hair on his back. So they both feel pretty now.

Today I attempted to clean Jett's room. It makes me a little sad that he has sooooo much stuff. I honestly think he has toys that he doesn't even know he has. We are definitely going to need to box some of them up and store them away until we have a larger living space.

This is Delano's long work weekend so we won't see him much. He has his final checkride next week for his Instrument rating at MTSU. Keep him in your thoughts because he is very nervous about it. I know he will pass as long as the weather cooperates and allows him to fly.

I am loving my Flip that Delano gave me for Christmas. It is super easy to record things quickly and I can now upload the videos on here! Below is a video of Jett playing with Dash. He loves getting Dash's toys out and showing him what they do. It is really sweet how Dash watches his big brother. Jett can't wait for Dash to get "bigger" so they can really play together. I am quite happy with the way things are because Dash can't go anywhere. When he learns to roll, crawl, and walk I am in trouble! :)
